Never used debian :) But from what little I know, its easier than slack --
slack is (apparently) the hardest (for a newbie) to get up and running, but
it doesn't try to do anything fancy.
I don't know how fancy deb tries to be :) but it would be hard to beat
slackware in lack of fancyness.
