[Sheflug] Debian 2.2r0 - just installed.

As I promised to Richard, here is the first of my cry for helps
regarding Debian :-)

I've installed the a very basic system onto a machine, which wasn't too
bad.

Only problem is that there is no telnet server nor ssh client or server
programs installed by the looks of things.
I was hoping to get going with ssh/scp and do everything over the
network, but not much chance there.

The network is also being wierd...I try to ping my workstation from the
debian machine, and the lights on the hub flash, ping reports the debian
box sending a few packets but there is no response.

My guess is that the routing is wierd, but I've never *really* got
routing to work first time, despite everything looking OK :-(

What is the easiest way to sort these two problems? Getting ssh onto
the machine is easy, but getting the network going is a pain.

 Cheers.

 Baz.
