Re: [Sheflug] CUPS

Hi,

I have played with CUPS and it seems quite solid but I have a similar
problem - it seems to ignore 'normal sized' top margins and start printing
right at the edge of the page. I had assumed that I had set the printer up
wrong but maybe not.... It prints OK now but I have had to change the top
margin setting on the WP to more than 25mm. Another peculiarity I found
(which may be Mandrake-specific) was that CUPS is most happy if you let it
find its own printers. I first tried to set up the printer tethered to the
windoze box by long-hand methods and it didn't like it at all. However, when
I used the CUPS set up daemon it trawled the whole network, found all the
printers, I picked the one I wanted to set up and it did the rest OK
straight away.
