Re: [Sheflug] Re: SuSE 7.1

Not COMPLETELY wrong. Only things to complain about:

SaX2 is (was?) a pile of something brown and nasty. It locked the machine
(yes, the machine, not X) when autodetecting the video card. I finally got
it to work, and the mouse was wrong. then the keyboard map was russian or
something. I couldn't believe it was the _successor_ to sax! Bring back
XF86Setup

Also, it only upgraded certain packages. There seems to be some things it
left out. When I have seen other, installed from scratch, SuSE 7 systems,
mine is still very 6.2-ish (what I had b4 6.4).

So, it updates packages etc alright, but doesn't change any config to suit
the newer versions. You're stuck with older, sometimes incompatible,
versions. I'm still using XFree 3.3.6, 'cos 4 just don't like my
machine! If I get it to work at all, it's very slow.

Seemed to come out wrong, that lot. Sounds like a good ol' blatting would
do my system good?
