[Sheflug] IRQ's (was RE: Fun networking problem
Most modern mobo's don't mind sharing the parallel IRQ with things, on the
basis that 15 interrupts is hardly enough. Just last week I had a machine
which literally couldn't have all it's hardware active because I ran out of
IRQs!
Anyway, I have my 3Com 3c509 on IRQ5, and my sound card on IRQ7, and it all
works marvellously. The 3Com cards are pretty marvellous when it comes to
simplicity of installation. Just stick it in and it works (as long as you've
disabled all the PNP junk)

it may not be relevant but have you any particular reason for putting the
3Com on the par port IRQ? Normal default settings for this card are IRQ10 &
IO 0x300.
Paul.
