I knew summat used IRQ 7 - couldn't think what...printer port lp0 is a module
.. I forget why I did this - at the time it was important :) But that's why
it's on 7...it was the only one free at that time :)
5 is taken by soundcard, 10 is taken by video card. I might flip it back to
10, and let the PCI sort itself out...I'd get a PCI net card if it wasn't for
the fact all the slots are taken and a single ISA slot is all I have left.
Why ISA cards were made so they could only be setup for certain IRQ's (rather
than "pick a number between 1 and 15", it's often a case of pick a number out
of "3, 5, 7, 10, 12 and then sacrifice a goat") I'll never know...it's even
dafter with serial ports...last time I tried to get a COM3/COM4 (internal
modem) I never got the bloody thing working without disabling one of the
built-in serial ports.
