[Sheflug] Updating problem
Hi,
I've got a problem...
I have RH6.2 on one of my machines and need to keep this on as the machine
is running one program which hasn't yet been ported to a more recent distro.
I want to put Abisuite on this machine and have downloaded the RH6.2 version
rpm, however, when I came to install it, it told me it needs a more recent
version of glib and gtk+ than are installed by RH6.2. I downloaded the
latest versions of glib and gtk+ and have installed them but I don't seem to
be able to convince the machine to forget about the previous versions.
Consequently, when I try to install the Abisuite rpm it still says it needs
glib and gtk+ updating. How can I either remove the original glib and
gtk+1.2.6 and make the new 1.2.9 versions current or convince the Abisuite
rpm that I do have the relevant progs installed? I think the originals were
installed in /usr/bin while the new ones have installed themselves in
/usr/local/bin but I'm not sure which are the important files, which I could
remove, or where to make links to and from. I'd be grateful of any help.
Thanks,
Ian
