Ough... Then it might still be the case that the old modem is fine and the
problem is in the BT line... Can AT ALL the problem be associated with
computer hard / software? Provided that otherwise everything seems to work
- minicom, AT-commands, 'OK' replies from the modem... Until you try to
dial... I presume it can't be the case - dial tone / carrier detection is
only between the modem and the line, right?...
