[Sheflug] [OT] Warning Surftime and call routers

Hi All

Just thought you all might like to be aware of a problem with BT and call
router boxes especially British Gas.

Up until last month all was fine with my phone bills, I pay BT 5.99UKP a
month for off peak surftime, but all calls are billed through BG telco. All
phones / modems etc in the house went through call router boxes. These are
the smart ones that use different access codes depending on the phone number
used. 

I got my monthy bill from BG last  night and all of Mays surftime calls have
been charged for, having spoken to BG they said that you are not supposed to
route 0844 calls through the box and the modem must be plugged directly into
the phone socket. This is not in any paper work I have from them and was not
explained when I took out the contract. Any calls using and 0844 prefix will
be charged at normal rates through BG. I am currently attempting to claim a
credit of 15UKP (my bill was 21UKP) for call that I should not have been
charged for, although BG state that it's not their problem.
