[Sheflug] Dumbass question of the week

Apologies for poor quality of this question but,

occasionally, when I've su'd as root, done some work and then typed 'exit' 
to exit back to my own account, I get the message 'There are stopped jobs'

a) What significance does this have?
b) How can I find which jobs are stopped
c) If the answer to a) and b) above are 'none' and 'I can't' why bother to 
tell me in the first place?
