[Sheflug] Setting hwclock
Dumb question, but after setting the time/date with 'date' how do I
transfer that to the hardware clock, and also how do I go about
getting the drift calculation set/marked?
Redhat did have a 'setclock --systohc' to sync the system time to
hardware, but it doesn't appear to be installed in RH7.1
No such command on my Debian boxen, as far as I can see - try an
apt-get setclock failled.
I've never figured how to deal with systematic drift - some of my
machines are miles off the mark.
I used to run timed, but I'm gonna look at ntpd when I get back from
Scotland, either way I'll still need to figure out/get help with the
stuff above.
Cheers.
Baz.
