You can always use tar and back everything up to several tapes
(in this case 20).
There are plenty of tools used for backup available. Amanda has
been discussed on this list at some point, but many tools are available
(taper, kbackup, tob...). And presumably gnome and kde will have their
usual crop of tools for that...
