Re: [Sheflug] Re: Silicon Graphics (Iris?) / Smoothwall
Hi all
Well, just to let you know - I have access to an SGI (IRIX-5.3), so, I
might be able to help with some particular stuff - directory structure
(e.g. on our installation user home-dirs are in /usr/people/...),
commands, etc. I thought, maybe you could connect the hard drive from your
SGI to a Linux box, mount it rw and modify /etc/passwd, but - I just
checked - at least 2.4.5 only supports efs read-only:-( I don't remember
if our SGI's have floppy drives, and - if they do - I don't know if I
would be able to produce a boot-diskette for you (but again - I don't have
root access to them either, so, if I can - you can too:-)), I seem to
remember - there were some floppy-like slots on them, but they looke like
dummies:-) But at least there is /floppy, but no corresponding record in
fstab... hmmm...
Good luck
