Having just looked at some of the stuff on freeswan.org (or whatever), I see
what you mean! It's a pity, because it looks like it would offer everything
I'm after.

Looked at that as well. I'm partly thinking about future uses, so I may
ultimately be relegating the PIX somewhat and equipping roaming users with
the capability to tunnel through the firewall, so IPSec would be a better
option all around for the company (bearing in mind that most of our remote
users use Winxx laptops).
