I've done it in one of two ways - either running hummingbird eXceed, which
is pretty good (but commercial), or using Cygwin.
The main different in the X environment between the two is that eXceed is
capable of putting each x app in it's own standalone window - Cygwin apps
are all in windows bound to one parent, so it's a little bit like having VNC
running or something: you end up with two separate desktops. However, Cygwin
is free and well easy to install over a network too.

SiS should be supported - is there any reason why you haven't been able to
configure it?
