OK.

I did try to do a apt-get dist-upgrade to goto testing/Woody - but I ended up 
with an unusable system.

Take 2 (or so :-) and I've got a working Debian Potato laptop.

Only thing is, how on Earth do I start the system running X, with 
Gnome+Sawfish, rather than TWM?

I already have task-gnome-whatever installed, and saw -fish/-mill.

Help!
