[Sheflug] Lex

I'm trying to install PHP4.0.6 and am getting an error while running 
./configure which is complaining about not being able to find lex.
I've checked and don't have it on my system, nor is it on my SuSE7.0 disks. 
I've had a look around the web and can find plenty of documents about lex 
but have so far been spectacularly unsuccessful in finding a download 
source for the program itself.

Can anyone please help?
