I wasn't thinking about the type of server suitable for him; he gave no list 
of requirements. I gave a price for a top-end solution and I also gave an 
idea of prices for lower end solutions.

£1200?? You're kidding. That would be a pretty rubbish server. £3000 gets you 
a dual processor machine, 1/2G to 1G RAM, 3x9Gb SCSI drives, RAID-5 
controller, etc. This is a _top_ _end_ solution I'm outlining here, remember. 
I want something that is going to last, and isn't going to fall over at the 
first sign of harddrive failure (we're in colo in this example).
