I have a Sun Ultra 30 running SuSE 7.1 and it works remarkably well there is
a bug in the SUN supplied X server that results in random colours when
switching to a text console and there is no 3D support for my Creator 3D
Video card other than that it seems fine although I haven't used it
extensively. Not quite so important but if I recall there was no support for
the inbuilt sound card.

I recently downloaded the SuSE 7.3 Beta although I haven't had time to try
it in anger yet.

I ran the box for quite a long time with SuSE 7.0 this was quite stable but
unfortunately there was a problem with Samba that was apparently due to a
32bit userspace program running against the 64 bit kernel. Thorsten Kukuk of
SuSE discovered the problem which I assume was fixed by the time 7.1 was
released although I never got round to testing it.

On the whole the box seems to boot quickly and performs well it is certainly
on a par with my Dual PIII 450 Linux box and all with a 250MHz UltraSparc
CPU.
