Just as an add on to this.  I've tried to start Lyx by command line 
as well as with the mouse.  From the command line I'm getting the 
following error message .......

lyx: error while loading shared libraries: libforms.so.0.89: cannot 
open shared object file: No such file or directory...

Any idea how to fix this ?  Anyone else know what it might be about ? 
 SuSE 7.3.
