Good advice, but it is a kernel bug (at least the second 2.4 kernel released
that had a problem ... the first in my experience, 2.4.13 (I think it was)
had a buggy line printer driver which failed to build).
As someone on LKML mentioned - it seemed there was an influx of changes made
between the last -pre and the main release with no testing of the changes.
Bit of a quality control issue. Hopefully 2.4.15 (when released) will work
first time, and they won't make any changes between the last -pre and the
release proper :-)
See my post yesterday though about fixing the 2.4.14 problem :)
