[Sheflug] Wuftpd configuration problems

Hi All

I'm running LM8.1 and want to organise ftp access to my server. I
noticed that proftpd was installed and running as part of my install,
however when I wanted to set up anon and guest accounts I didn't know
how to, nor could I find out how. So, while using webmin I discovered I
could do it there, however, it only seems to support wu-ftpd. So, I
uninstalled proftpd and installed wuftpd. It seems to work, in the
sense that I can use my server as an ftp server...

Here are my probs, on checking in the control centre on the services
running, I can see that proftpd has gone (good) and wuftpd is there and
ticked to start on boot (good). However, it is not running and when I
try to start it is says 'wu-ftpd:unrecognised service'. Eeek. Anyways,
don't know why that's happening, but it might relate to other probs.
With webmin I can now fiddle with the ftp settings. I can log in using
a user account fine and anon fine but how on earth do I create guest
accounts with specific passwords that point to specific folders? I
can't seem to do it with webmin, but don't mind getting my hands dirty
with conf files or whatever.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Neil

PS Further info if necessary to answer prob. I am running a linux box
with Mandrake 8.1. I have set it up to use BT's adsl modem and it
serves my two windows (XP and 98se) machines with a net connection.
Also run samba and komba2 and apache and firestarter to configure
firewall things. That's about it I think.
