RE: [Sheflug] Would you like Broadband for Britain?

hehe

Quite. I can't honestly understand what all the hype is about. I am
wondering what all these technical 'have-nots' would do with an always on
internet connection and P4 based PC. Sell it, most likely. Whats the point?
members of my own family have internet connected computers, and are stuck in
the 'ooh, I'd better upgrade'. My father-in-law asked me to get him a 40Gb
hard drive, as his 10Gb one is getting a bit full. He has currently used
1.6Gb with a default install of Win98, Office 97, and some scanner drivers
(never used).

Everyone does have the right to broadband, in the same way as everyone has
the right to a telephone, a TV, a car, and anything else which, when alls
said and done, is a luxury.
