RE: [Sheflug] Re: Would you like Broadband for Britain?

Abuse mode irrelevant... logic mode ON.

Where I live I can't get cable... that's why I pay more for adsl (not a
situation I like but one I understand and live with).. if I had neither as
an option then I would have to move to get it - simple.. in the same way if
I want gas I won't live on an island off scotland if you see my point.. I
just think that there are so many flaws with this broadband for britain lark
I don't know where to start.

I sent the cable company a letter saying that if they did indeed lay cable
down our road (cos it's all around us.. I live in Hunters Bar).. then I
would certainly subscribe.. however, I am realistic.. unless enough pple
down my road say they'll subscribe or something like that, then I don't
expect them to rush out and dig a path to my door. It's not business sense
to do it and nor is it in a lot of the country, which is where the 'right'
bit comes in. If it was a right then no one would want to be in the comms
industry (not that they do at the moment anyways lol)... but I stand by my
what I said, it is not a right.

Have I made a gross error? Should I repent by signing the petition?

Regards

Neil

PS You're not 'allowed' to have adsl? or is it unavailable?

Where I am I'm not allowed to have ADSL at all and so for me and many
other people we see that we are not to be allowed to be a part of the
broadband community. It would seem to be the case that the
Government have forgotten about broadband and a gentle push in the
right direction would help quite a bit.

As for cars and the other things... I'm happy enough with two feet or
a push bike :)

Thanks
