RE: [Sheflug] Re: [Sheflug] Re: Would you like Broadband for Britain?

With my adsl connection I get around 60-70k/s on fast sites (uk mirrors/ T3
p2p etc), and upload at 30k/s. But, similar to Chris, I tend to get
20-30k/s d/l on average. I would still prefer cable, cos it would save me
£15/month at least. Hey ho. Perhaps I can write letters to the cable
company on behalf of my whole road/area :)

Well I've got (though it does depend on where I download from) anywhere up
to
40 or 50kB/sec (especially from places likes Sunsite and the academic
mirror). And I've had a friend download from my machine (ie, I'm uploading)
and I'm hitting the 128kbps (16k/sec) cap that BY impose.

20kB/sec is common for me to download at, which is quicker than ISDN or
modem :) For normal web browsing though, it's not ridiculously quicker
unless
the site is riddled with large graphics.

But thats my experience :)

Yep :)
