[Sheflug] Linux Tyro

Hi All,

I am trying to install SuSE 7.3 on my Compaq Armada M700 Laptop. The
instillation seems to go OK, and at the end of it I am presented with the
KDE desktop - but that's the last time I ever see it! Whenever I re-boot the
machine the loading process crashes the computer when trying to load the
windows manager.
I had thought it was because my screen wasn't directly supported - so I have
configured it for VESA (the book says it should work) and of course after
the initial installation - it does work?

I have already lost 20% of my remaining hair (incidentally - the whole thing
works fine under RedHat and Mandrake).

I am very much a tyro with Linux, any help would be very much appreciated.
