RE: [Sheflug] Re: [suse-linux-uk-schools] SuSE 7.3 Network Problems

Hi Thomas,

The cards are all PCI - a couple of them are new. 1 is a National
Semiconductor NE2000 clone, I also have a Netgear FA311 and an RTL 8139
(that's the one installed at the moment.)

No neither - I just have an IP address set up on both machines (I've taken
the others off the network to save confusion) and am trying to ping one from
the other.

ifconfig -a shows eth0, lo and sit0

ifconfig eth0 gives:
Link encap:Ethernet HWAddress 00:01:A7:0B:B1:E9
inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast192.168.0.255 Mask 255.255.255.0

Do you smoke, take recreational substances, eat chocolate?

Many thanks,

Alistair
