Darrell,

    I don't personally know of any program that automates the whole
    process of installing a new Kernel (doesn't mean there isn't one)
    but make oldconfig will re-make the kernel with your previous
    settings, I think make Xconfig also allows you load previously saved
    settings (Appologise if you alreayd know this, I'm quite new to
    Linux and really want to help out anyway I can :) )

    If you do have any ideas abuot playing around with shell scripts or
    C code to see if such a thing could be done though, please let me
    know, I'm not an advanced programer but will give anything a
    try...once.
