Richard,

I don't belive there are any major issues with the disk space. Windowz,
being the fussiest OS should be placed in the first primary partition. If
you are installing 9x I would use DOS Fdisk, Fips or Partition Magic to
create your FAT32 partition and then install windowz. If you are installing
NT/2000 and you want to use NTFS, you should be OK to partition from within
windowz installer or use Partition Magic and maybe Fips (not sure if it
supports NTFS.) After installing windowz, start the Linux installer and you
should be able to partition your disk. If you are using a recent distro you
should be able to get away with just creating a swap partiton and a /
partition, preferably formating as reiser fs if supported. If you have an
old distribution, you will also need to create an ext2 /boot partition within
the first 8Gb of the drive. This can either be at the end of your FAT32
partition if it is less than 8Gb or if not, you will need to chop the FAT32
partition in two and have a c: and a d:. This will need to be done before
installing windows using either Fips or Partition Magic.

I hope that this helps and isn't too confusing, but different partitioning
strategies need to be employed based on OS type and versons. If this is too
confusing, drop a reply with your windowz and Linux versions and the size of
partitions you are looking to create and I'll talk you though a more specific
partitioning stragegy.

Regards,

Mike.
