Unknown to myself Friday is Burns night.  I've been through a few of 
these complete with more than a few drams.  I think Friday may prove 
to be a more sober ocassion....

To quote Burns..

Let other poets raise a fracas'Bout vines, an' wines an' drucken 
Bacchus,  An' crabbit names an' stories wrack us,
An' grate our lug:  I sing the juice Scotch bear can mak us,  In a 
glass or jug.

closely followed by the address to the haggis.  The ones I saw were 
usually carried out whilst a piper played a lament and the skien du 
was plunged deeply into the offending genuine article.

Haggis will also be on the menu and in keeping with tradition I will 
be eating it.
