Which Type of DeskPro is it ..?  The earlier deskpro's have  qvision2000
graphics card , which , is a pain in the b*tt to to get X to go,  in fact I
have been told that the graphics card is unsupported by linux (..?)

On a more positive note you can identify the hardware in compaqs by entering
the serial number of the machine in the following web page

Hi

After a lot of struggle i am able to Install SuSe 7.3 on my Old Compaq
Deskpro Desktop. But i am facing the problem with Monitor. When SuSe ask
for X11 configuration then my monitor Model (SAMTRON Model No SC-428TX)
was not there in the list shown by SuSe. Then i tried to use the
combination of Frequency and Display option but it dod not work. Then
finally i selected the NO X11 and went ahead. 

Now i am able to boot Linux but out put is so hazy that one can not
read.

If anyone has clue for it please pass it.
