[Sheflug] auto update via yast2

Forgive me for asking the question, does anyone know a way round 
having to re-start the automatic online update (SuSE 7.1) in yast2 from 
scratch each time after the connection fails?. 
It doesn't seem to pick up where it left off.
Having spent hours tracking down an irq prob, I'm pissed off!
It tells me I've got 188+ Mb of patches to download, but I can't get 
further than 20 Mb.
