[Sheflug] new kernel

Hi guy,
I am new for this mailing list. I use slack 8 on my laptop. all works very well even if my sis630  (video card)is not supported well by xfree 4.1.0. the only little problem now is that when i tried to install a new kernel (2.4.14) to the reboot I got the resolution of video 800x600 even if in my lilo there is resolution 1024x768 and with the kernel 2.2.19 this resolution is supported. what am  I doing wrong?
