[Sheflug] Oh gloom
In attempting to upgrade a SuSE 7.0 system to 7.3 via ftp, all was going
swimmingly until the system couldn't find a required library on restarting
which meant that logins were not possible (libreadline somethingorother, I
think).
I've tried to retrieve the situation by reloading from the SuSE 7.0 CDs but
although everything seemed to be going OK, when YaST has finished running
its scripts and the systems is restarting, I get the following errors;
INT: Id "1" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes
INT: Id "2" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes
INT: Id "3" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes
INT: Id "4" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes
INT: Id "5" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes
INT: Id "6" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: No more processes left in this runlevel
I've repeated this process a couple of times but always get the same result
I would really appreciate any help in trying to get out of this loop.
Although it wouldn't be the end of the world, I really don't want to have
to rebuild the system from scratch.
Cheers
Steve
