[Sheflug] Error messages.

I'm trying to configure a new PCI modem.  Intel have supplied me Linux drivers for it.  But when I make all I get a message:
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:1:2: #error Modules should never use Kernal-header system headers
/usr/include/linux/modversions.h:2:2: #error but headers from an appropriate kernal-source

Could anybody tell me what this means?  And does anybody know how I may get round this?
Cheers..Doug
