[Sheflug] Re: Heads-up -- Microsoft endangers Samba?

Jeremy Allison was giving a few small examples of this at our seminar
that took place in February....
http://www.sheflug.co.uk/linux_seminar.html
he was saying that it was out of his hands and mostly to do with the
U.S legal system. As in fact the Register correctly explains. This
part of the report on the Register kind of drew my attention a bit...
"Microsoft's new assault follows a year's worth of rhetoric aimed at
slandering the GPL and those who, in the name of software freedom,
advocate the use of GPL. Now, that war of words has been followed up
with a legal attack," states Bradley Kuhn, executive director of the
FSF. "In copylefted Free Software, Microsoft now faces a rival that
they cannot buy nor run out of business. As expected, they've turned
to their patent pool as their last resort to assail us."
I've spoken to Bradley in his own office in Boston. He's pretty much
like anyone else. Down to earth ... not all that passionate about
anything... wiling to forgive etc ... So, I couldn't think that he
would be willing to attack anyone or anything either legally or
physically. Which means that someone must have had a go at him
first ?
Anyway, things get more curious all of the time :)
Thanks
