i often have to edit files for the missus, as she does a bit of
choreography.

i usually in windoze, capture the audio from the source (video, tape, mp3)
using cool edit 2000 or something. then i usually use a package called
mixmeister to cut out bits, add bits, etc. its really just chopping up audio
files. i have tried to run them in vmware but its a bit dodgy. so i was
wondering if there is anything that linux can offer in this department. we
need a gimp for audio!
