Below I've posted what redhat put on a floppy (some kind of dump for the support). I just wanted to know if it's possible to install rh7.2 without anaconda. I've tried quite a few ways but anaconda is always started.

I've had specific obscure problems with Anaconda, but not general issues
with the Redhat 7.2 install: I've always found it to be solid as a rock
(and I've used it several hundred times!!) (One caveat: I always use the
text install: I'm a GUI-phobe, particularly during installations!)

Assuming that you're booting from a floppy and installing from a CD,
I'd interpret the log messages as meaning it's having a fairly dire
problem with either the CD or the CD drive.Assuming that this assessment
is near the mark, I'd suggest the following (to be tried in this order:)

1) Check the cabling and jumpering on the existing drive: make sure the
ribbon-cable plug is pushed right in, and the ribbon isn't peeling away
from the plug (you wouldn't believe how many times I've traced install
issues to this cause! I now always check it first rather than last.) If
in any doubt, substitute a new IDE cable.

2) If you've got a spare CD drive lying about, or can borrow one, try
substituting it.

3) If neither of the above make any difference, try a fresh CD.

(Would anyone else like to confirm this diagnosis/treatment or shoot it
down in flames?)

(Incidentally, personally, I wouldn't just switch to trying 7.3: you
could end up masking one problem with lots of others, and the 7.2
install really shouldn't be breaking anyway.)

Good luck.
