Nope; Sybase (and MS SQL Server which grew from Sybase) have a datatype
called "timestamp". The value in the column bears no relation to the actual
date and time, but is primarilary used where uniqueness is required, and
can be more reliable than identity columns, especially as identity can
be switched off and generally mangled for whatever needs are required.
I agree; with other things though - need sample data and code :)
