When I got there the network cable which was BNC based was dead.  As 
in physically useless.  So, I ripped all of that out and plugged in 
some RJ45.  That fixed the network.   Then I had to re-install the 
Linux server which had been b0rked by an employee.  It was fine after 
I'd installed it and configured it but not after the employee had 
messed it up.

All would now seem to be well.   Just need to rip the old cable out 
and fit the new stuff properly.
