Having seen what I've seen in the States I think I have to agree with 
you.  Certainly if any Euro software patents scheme came together it 
would destroy large parts of the IT industry over here.

I think it's a great shame that RedHat should go downhill as far as 
this.  I might be allowed to suggest that they aren't much better 
then Microsoft when they say that they will join in with a patents 
battle ?

I did write a three page epic about Bradley Kuhn who is Vice 
President of the FSF in Boston.  I interviewed him in his office.  It 
appeared in Linux magazine issue 20 as a cut down one page feature 
due to lack of space in the magazine.  Bradley is keen to explain 
issues to do with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and patent 
issues.  He is very good at explaining the issues involved with these 
very strange legal affairs.
