I use the SanDisk Imagemate SDDR-31, which has become somewhat famous as _the_ 
compact flash reader for Linux. Unlike some others, it has all the interface 
electronics on board, instead of using the USB capabilities of the compact 
flash card itself (which very rarely work with Linux).

Jessops at Fitzallan Square sell them for about £28. Or at least they did in 
Febuary :)
