Just a quick 'thanks' to all who offered advice. Sadly, I've been unable to
find the time to put your suggestions to the test (even the ones I /could/
understand!!), but I'll try again in a couple of weeks when my course has
finished, and all the lecturers in my department have b*gg*r*d-off on
holidays (sorry - 'research leave' ;-)). I'll have some free time then. In
the meantime I've downloaded the Mandrake 8.2 distro, so hopefully I'll be
able to upgrade and get the CD-R working all at the same time :-)
Also, I've just acquired a full RedHat 7.2 distro - CD's and Manuals. Can
anyone tell me if there's a significant difference between this distro and
the Mandrake one? Is it worth installing on a separate machine, just for the
fun of it?!
Thanks again,
TTFN!
