I do like TeXmacs. It has a comfortable interface and allows a good overview 
of things like equations. One of the main downfalls of lyx is it's weird 
handling of multiline equations, in my experience.

Of course, you can't been Emacs and LaTeX :)

This is always a problem. The TeX is produces is not as clean as hand produced 
stuff, as is the problem with GUI HTML editors. However, it's not bad, and is 
not _too_ limiting unless, as you point out, you are a long time TeX user.

The fonts RPM seems weird 'cos I've tried 4 distros and never yet found the 
RPM it requires!!
