[Sheflug] scrapped mobo: spare bits
Hiya Shefluggers,
When I got back from holiday in August my m/c was dead as a dodo. Mobo
and/or processor knackered: shop (N2C) said mobo was dead. Sold me a
2nd hand slot A mobo: also dead or dying. Cutting a long story short,
bought a new Gigabyte mobo+athlon processor (RAID). Actually I wanted a
non-raid couple of extra IDE channels but it seems that they can only be
used in RAID mode: this will have to wait until I've a chance of getting
a drive to mirror. So far, so much better than before though. I
plugged my old hdd in, edited /etc/fstab and everything works nicely
(linux of course: no chance of getting a boot into the dual win2k
partition!).
Anyway, I have (for what it's worth) still got a possibly working Athlon
800MHz slot A processor which I will not be using, and also 3 x 256
MByte PC133 DIMMS which should work fine. I don't know if they are
worth anything (I'm open to suggestions) but my main desire is for them
to find a good home.
Email me off list (matt [at] fairtlough.net) if you are interested in the bits.
Matt.
