RE: [Sheflug] OT XML help required
I recd 3 e-mails back, all with the correct solution, and also plenty of
pointers to more reading ;-)
As way if thanks heres a little bit of background to the problem.
My employer has recently decided to move towards more on-line learning
materials, whether in the class room or across the 'net.
An organisation called the National Learning Network http://www.nln.ac.uk
has produced several Gb worth of on-line learning materials and made it
available to FE colleges. My mission was to download it and integrate it it
into a bunch of static webpages. The herculean task of getting a load of
directories called bs10102, '03 ... and turning that into web links saying
"Business Studies Profit and Loss" etc was made much easier by the fact
that each chunk of content contains an xml manifest with the Title of the
unit embedded in it. The advice I recd from this list made it possible for
me to extract that info.
Thanks
Alan Dawson
