O(NlogN) function versus a similar order data structure - I think I 
did point out that it would be exchanging speed for space :)

Sorry, you're right - originally I did a (.*)-.., and re-ordered the
return to be $2$3$4$1, with cmp, but of course changed it (it's 
already alphabetized on the first column...) and got confused. Never
mind :o)
