Hi all, 
I've got a problem turning on syntax highlighting on emacs 20.7.2 
(mipsel-ps2-linux-gnu).  Everything runs fine when I run emacs from within X 
(so the highlighting scripts are probably installed) but for one reason or 
another I need to work from a console.  M-x set-font-lock-mode appears to 
work but doesn't actually change the text.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
