[Sheflug] how to release something under the GPL

Hi All

I have written some php/MySQL apps that I'd like to release to the great
unwashed. However, I want to be able to do so under the GPL. Now,
there is nothing ground breaking about these little apps; a forum, an
online photo ads system, a newsletter double opt-in mailer, etc. etc.
You get the picture. But I don't want to give them away without people
having the rights I enjoyed while making them.

So, I know this is a LUG list and not a FSF or GNU list, but I figured
someone might know the best way to go on this? Is it simply a matter os
stating that this <insert name of awesome software here> is released
under the GPL with a suitable link? Or do I have to register
somewhere? I took a quick look at the gnu.org and fsf.org websites but
couldn't see anything obvious.

I'm sure these apps will come in useful for people building sites and
interested in seeing the state of the art in kludge coding :)

Thanks for your time.

Neil
