There is a program to sync Evolution on the Zaurus, can't for the life
of me remember were - I was considering buying one too, but then thought
better of it (finances...) 

There are people using it with Linux desktops on the RedHat mailing
list, and someone else also. 

Sorry I can't remember web addresses to point you to. Although
openzaurus.something springs to mind (an open-source replacements of the
O/S).
